Madame Cadillac
Who is Madame Cadillac?
Why name a dance company for her?
Marie Tehres Guyon (related to Celine Dion) is the wife we never knew of Detroit’s founder, Gasconne adventurer, Antoione Delmothe Cadillac. He built the military fort called Fort Pontchartrain on the Detroit in July of 1701. She arrived just four months later. She had traveled 750 miles in open canoe from Montreal with their best friend and their little boy. She wanted to share his adventures in the wilderness and help build a real settlement, a future city. They were two fascinating people who are the French Ancestors of all Detroiters. Find out how they lived, what they were all about, how they danced, the food they ate, who their friends were, and so much more. This entertaining program is suitable for classroom studies in French or Michigan history, or adult banquets & festivals.
